It’s such an exciting time shopping for your dream dress and we want you to enjoy your Elegance Experience, we also understand that you are entering unfamiliar territory by visiting a bridal boutique, which is why we have put together some regularly asked questions for you to read through before you attend your appointment.

When should I start looking for my gown?

As soon as you feel ready to purchase, but please bare in mind that some gowns can take up to 6 months for them to arrive due to them being made to order, so it’s really important that you leave plenty of time to ensure a stress-free experience, ideally at least 12 months before your wedding.

What can I expect at my appointment?

You will have the sole & exclusive use of our boutique, with no other brides in sight !
At Elegance Bridal Studio, it’s all about you & only you.
We will listen, help & guide you, every special step of your Elegance journey.

HELP! My wedding is less than six months away!

All our gowns are available to buy off the peg, we also have gowns in stock, whilst also offering an 8 week rush cut.
Short notice wedding dates, are not an issue at Elegance Bridal Studio.

Do I have to make an appointment?

Yes! Our boutique works by appointment only and we only see one bride at any one time, It’s advisable that you call us in advance of when you wish to try our beautiful gowns to avoid any disappointment or a wasted journey. Appointments are available Tuesday – Sunday and we allow up to two hours for your first visit.

Can I browse if you are with a bride?

Due to our personal one to one service, each bride has the sole and exclusive use of our boutique, we are unable to allow you to browse if you haven’t made an appointment.

Do I need to wear any special underwear?

For your first appointment you don’t need to wear any supportive underwear unless you feel comfortable doing so, the majority of our gowns have corsetry within the gowns which will give you a supportive fit. Remember you will be getting very personal very quickly with us, due to us having to assist and help you into each gown, but don’t worry we have seen it all before! Wear underwear that you feel happy to show but please keep fake tan and make up to a minimum, it can rub off and stain our beautiful gowns.

Who should I bring with me?

The person whose opinion you value and trust, some brides prefer to come on their own and then return with their close relative /friend, to get a second opinion, other brides want to keep their gown a surprise until the wedding day. Remember the ultimate decision about your gown has to be made by you, your gown is a reflection of your style and personality. Please note we can only accommodate no more than 2 guests that you bring with you to your appointment, large groups cannot be accommodated.

Can we bring children to our appointment?

Whilst we welcome children, in the past we have found that children can become restless when they are not the centre of attention, which can become a distraction for the bride, it can take up to two hours for a bride to choose her dream gown.

How do I know what style suits or what size to order?

Don’t worry! We professionally style all our brides and we will ensure that the style of gown that you choose will be perfect for you. You can be safe in the knowledge that we truly care what you will look like on the biggest day of your life and we would never sell a gown to a bride if it did not suit them, after all our reputation walks down the ailse with every gown we sell! As for the size to order, your measurements will be taken at the point of order and the appropriate size will be ordered as per the designer’s size chart, we can also have gowns made to a special length.

How do I know if it’s ‘the one’?

It’s the magical feeling that every bride feels when looking at herself in her dream gown, don’t worry you will know when it happens to you, we have the tissues and bubbly ready.

I’m losing weight, what size should I order?

This can be a tricky one, especially if you are intending on losing a few dress sizes. We always recommend, time allowing, that you order your gown when you have achieved your goal weight due to the change in your figure. So maybe what did you suit you when you were a larger dress size may not work as well now that you are a smaller dress size, you may also want to celebrate your new curves by showing them off in a more fitted gown. However if you only want to lose a dress size or two then don’t worry, our gowns can be easily altered two dress sizes up or down without it affecting the style of your gown.

Can you recommend a seamstress if I need alterations?

Yes we can! We have 4 bridal seamstresses that we recommend who cover the Yorkshire area, offering a combination of working from their own premises and also offer home visits too, 7 days a week, including late nights. There is no need for you to take anytime off work to fit around set hours, they work around you.

Can I order your gowns off the internet?

No, our bridal designers do not allow stockists to sell on line and only sell their gowns through reputable bricks and mortar bridal shops, due to the support and professional advice you need when purchasing your bridal gown. Please be very careful if you have discovered a designer’s image being used by an internet seller with a too good to be true price attached, these are more than often cheap fake copies and will not be the same quality as the genuine designer gown.

Can we still try your gowns on if we are not buying from your shop?

We cannot offer appointments to you if you have no intention of buying from us, we have in the past had brides visit us to show a friend or relative a gown that they have ordered elsewhere,or are buying off the internet, our time has been wasted especially when we have had to turn genuine customers away. We are an independent retailer and we are not employed by the designers, so all we ask is that you respect that, our time is precious.

What are your payment terms ?

Payment is required in full, by either card or cash, cheques are not accepted.
We don’t have payment plans or deposits on gowns.
Our gowns are available to be immediately shipped, unless otherwise agreed.

 

Do you allow photo’s ?

When you have purchased your gown, you can take as many photo’s as you wish.
Please bare in mind, that sometimes looking back at a photo of a dress, that doesn’t fit you perfectly, whilst the lighting may not be flattering or your hair & make up not professionally done, can cause more harm than good.

Remember it’s all about how you feel, in your dream dress !
